Trident "Sugar and Spice" slam

Come on down to Trident Booksellers on Newbury Street for our monthly 'slam." This month's theme is "Sugar and Spice."

Tickets are $10 online or at the door. Doors open at 6pm. Show is at 7pm.

 

A story slam is a contest of stories by known and undiscovered talent. Story slammers sign up on the night to tell a 5-minute short story on the evening's theme (see full season listing below). Ten names are drawn at random from a box. A team of 5 volunteer judges - interested amateurs, storytellers, theater people and members of the audience who love stories - evaluate how well each story is told, how well it is constructed, how well the story explores, connects and/or reveals some truth about the theme and, how well it honors the time limit. The 2 highest-scoring tellers and a third selected by the audience are awarded prizes and an opportunity to perform at the "BigMouthOff" at the end of the slam season in May.
